Air Arabia is set to restart its daily nonstop flights connecting Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, India, starting October 16, 2026. This move will re-establish a direct air link between the UAE emirate and the coastal city located in Kerala. The airline announced the resumption on October 6, and tickets are now available for booking. The daily flights will reconnect Ras Al Khaimah International Airport with Kozhikode International Airport in southern India.

According to Air Arabia, the revived route will offer passengers a direct daily connection between the UAE and India. Kozhikode, also known as Calicut, is situated on Kerala’s Malabar Coast in southern India. The airline did not specify detailed departure and arrival times in its October 6 statement, nor did it provide information about the aircraft type or flight numbers for the resumed daily service. These specifics were missing from the latest announcement as well.
Adel Al Ali, group chief executive officer of Air Arabia, expressed his satisfaction with the route’s return, highlighting that the daily service would provide travelers with a convenient link between the two cities. He further added that the airline remains committed to delivering dependable travel options and fostering community connectivity. The route’s comeback was driven by travel demand between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, although the airline did not release passenger volume forecasts or traffic projections.
Kerala route revival enhances daily connectivity
This Kozhikode route supplements Air Arabia’s existing nonstop network from Ras Al Khaimah, which currently includes destinations such as Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar. The reestablished India service will expand the list of direct flights from October 16. Since beginning operations at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in May 2014, Air Arabia has maintained the emirate as one of its UAE bases.
The airline initially launched nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode on November 22, 2023. At that time, the route operated three times a week using Airbus A320 aircraft, with flights scheduled on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays under flight numbers G9 728 and G9 729. The upcoming service in 2026 will increase the frequency to a daily schedule. Nevertheless, the airline has not yet confirmed whether it will retain the same flight numbers or departure times as before.
Bookings available ahead of October restart
Passengers can secure reservations through Air Arabia’s official website, its call center, or via travel agencies. These booking options were confirmed when the airline announced the October restart. The announcement did not specify when the previous service was halted, nor did it provide reasons for the interruption. Additionally, fare details, operating schedules, or aircraft assignments for the new daily flights remain undisclosed. The airline’s statement primarily emphasized the restart date, frequency, and direct city pairing.
The resumption on October 16 marks nearly three years since the route’s initial launch, restoring a nonstop link between Ras Al Khaimah and Kerala. While the airline has confirmed daily flights from the restart date, other schedule specifics are yet to be announced. Travelers interested in exact timings, flight numbers, or fares should consult the airline’s booking channels for current information. The airline has not indicated any additional modifications to the route at this time.
